On Monday, the futures price of ferrosilicon fluctuated and weakened. The main contract closed at 5,316 CNY per ton, down 0.23% from the previous period. The open interest of the main contract increased by 2,210 lots to 223,500 lots compared with the previous period. The spot consolidated prices of ferrosilicon in various regions range from 5,100 to 5,150 CNY per ton, remaining basically unchanged compared to the previous day. Yesterday, the overall trend of the black sector was slightly differentiated, with the center of ferrosilicon futures prices moving slightly downward compared to the previous period. From a fundamental perspective, the weekly output of ferrosilicon rose month-on-month. Although it is still lower than the level of the same period last year, it is higher than the lowest value of 9,800 tons in the past five years. On the demand side, the weekly demand for ferrosilicon from sample steel mills increased slightly compared to the previous week. The available inventory days of ferrosilicon from steel mills in June also rose to a certain extent, approximately 15.38 days, higher than 0.83 days in the same period last year, but still at a relatively low level for the same period in history. On the cost side, the price of small raw materials for blue carbon in Shaanxi region decreased by 20CNY/ ton to 580CNY/ ton compared with the previous period, indicating a slightly weaker cost support. Overall, the fundamentals of ferrosilicon are not strongly driven. It is expected that the short-term operation will mainly remain at a low level with fluctuations.
