What raw material factors affect the quality of high carbon ferrochrome smelting

The smelting methods of high carbon ferrochromium include blast furnace method, electric furnace method, plasma furnace method, etc. The raw materials for smelting high carbon ferrochromium include chromium ore, coke, and silica. It should be noted that when producing high carbon ferrochromium from high carbon ferrochromium manufacturers, the following four factors can have a certain impact on the quality of high carbon ferrochromium:

1. Harmful impurities in raw materials: Sulfur and phosphorus are harmful impurities in raw materials, as they enter ferrochrome alloy and affect the quality of steel and steel.

2. The suitability of raw material particle size has a significant impact on the smelting process. Excessive raw material particles can cause difficulty in melting, reduction difficulty, increased conductivity, increased slag volume, deterioration of furnace conditions, and deterioration of various technical and economic indicators for smelting.

3. Drying of raw materials is also important, especially for coke. Coke has a large porosity, so it has strong water absorption. The fluctuation of moisture in coke first affects the accuracy of the fixed carbon ratio in the furnace charge, and secondly, the evaporation of moisture also consumes heat. Especially when the material collapses, the wet material directly enters the crucible area, absorbing a large amount of heat and increasing power consumption. After the wet coke is crushed, its powder often blocks or reduces the sieve hole, resulting in the inability of the coke powder to be sieved off, resulting in an increase in powder in the coke. When wet coke is loaded into the closed furnace, it is easy to cause blockage in the material pipe and produce suspended materials. When the material collapses, air will be brought in, and the pressure inside the furnace will rapidly increase, which may cause an explosion accident. So we should pay extra attention.

4. Grade and purity of raw materials: Smelting requires the highest possible grade of raw materials. Raw materials with high purity can achieve high yield and low consumption.
