Carburizing agent is a product used to increase carbon elements, which is used in multiple industries. Adding carburizing agent during steelmaking can effectively improve the hardness and wear resistance of steel. However, if used improperly, causing too much or too little carbon element in the steel can also affect the quality of the steel. Therefore, it is necessary to master the precautions for using carburizing agent in production. Below is a detailed introduction, hoping to be helpful to you;
1、 The addition time of carburetor cannot be ignored
If the carburizing agent is added too early, it can easily adhere to the vicinity of the furnace bottom, and the carburizing agent attached to the furnace wall is not easily dissolved in iron;
If the addition time is too late, the opportunity for carbon addition is lost, resulting in delayed melting and heating time. This not only prolongs the time for chemical composition analysis and adjustment, but also may bring harm to ferroalloys due to excessive heating. Therefore, the gradual addition of carburetors during the process of adding metal furnace materials will have a better effect;
If the amount added at one time is too large, it can be combined with the overheating operation of the molten iron used in the induction furnace to ensure that the absorption time of the carburizing agent in the molten iron is 10 minutes; On the one hand, electromagnetic stirring is used to fully diffuse and absorb the carburizing agent, ensuring absorption efficiency;. On the other hand, it can reduce the nitrogen content brought in by the carburetor.
2、 Improvement in joining methods
Do not add at once, add in batches; Finally, a portion of the molten iron was melted and added, and a portion (about a pack) of molten iron was added to the bag. Then, decarburizer was added 1-2 times to the furnace, followed by slag removal and alloy addition.
There are several aspects that also need to be noted
1. Carbonizing agents are difficult to absorb (without calcination)
2. The carburetor has a high ash content and uneven particle distribution
3. The carburetor is added too late
4. The addition method is incorrect, using layered addition of carburizing agents to avoid adding too much slag on the mirror surface of the molten iron
5. Try not to use too much rusty material;
