South Korea Makes Anti-dumping Sunset Review Of Stainless Steel Coils Involved in China

On February 20, 2025, the South Korean Trade Commission issued Announcement No. 2025-3 (Case Investigation No. 23-2024-4), and issued the final verdict on the first sunset review of anti-dumping of Flat-rolled Products of Stainless Steel originating in mainland China, Indonesia and Taiwan, China, and recommending that the five-year anti-dumping duty continue to be imposed on the products involved; at the same time, price commitments were reached with some companies (see the attached table for details). The implementation of the measures shall be subject to the relevant tax collection announcement of the Ministry of Planning and Finance of South Korea. The Korean tax numbers of the products involved are 7219.12.1090, 7219.12.9000, 7219.13.1090, 7219.13.9000, 7219.14.1090, 7219.14.9000, 7219.22.1090, 7219.23.1090, 7219.23.9000, 7219.24.1090, 7219.24.9000, 7219.31.1090, 7219.31.9000, 7219.32.1090, 7219.32. 9000, 7219.33.1090, 7219.33.9000, 7219.34.1090, 7219.34.9000, 7219.35.1090, 7219.35.9000, 7219.90.1090, 7219.90.9000, 7220.11.1090, 7220.11.9000, 7220.12.1090, 7220.12.9000, 7220.20.90.9000, 7220.90.9000.

On September 25, 2020, South Korea launched an anti-dumping investigation into stainless steel coils originating in mainland China, Indonesia and Taiwan. According to the South Korean Ministry of Planning and Finance Order No. 865, South Korea will impose three-year anti-dumping duties on the products involved in the above-mentioned countries and regions starting from September 15, 2021, of which 23.69% to 25.82% in mainland China; at the same time, no anti-dumping duties will be imposed on enterprises that have reached price commitments. On May 17, 2024, South Korea launched the first sunset review of anti-dumping stainless steel plate coils originating in mainland China, Indonesia and Taiwan.
